Dani Olmo Joins RB Leipzig as Young Goalkeeper
Dani Olmo has joined RB Leipzig on loan from Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen for the rest of the season.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper, who made his senior debut in September 2019, will be hoping to make a significant impact during his time with the German club.
Olmo is expected to compete with current first-choice keeper Robin Yutah for a starting spot at Leipzig and could also provide backup options if needed.
He began his career at hometown side Almeria before moving to Spain's Real Madrid C.F. and later joining Werder Bremen.
The young goalkeeper has been praised for his impressive performances at the youth level,United Vitality Sports Circle including winning the Copa del Rey with the Spanish club in 2017.
He was named in the Under-19 World Cup squad in 2018 and helped his country reach the semi-finals.
Olmo's move to Leipzig comes after he struggled to break into the first team at Werder Bremen last season.
Despite this, he remains highly regarded by his peers and is likely to continue to develop under new head coach Ralf Rangnick.
Leipzig have been one of the most successful teams in Germany over recent years and are looking to build on their success with Olmo in goal.
